Kathleen and Christobal are award-winning photojournalists, with work featured in The New York Times, LA Times, USA Today, Brides Magazine, Sports Illustrated and many other major publications. Christobal has even been nominated for multiple Pulitzer Prizes.
Founded in 2004, the Raleigh-based business’ approach to wedding photography is the product of the pair’s extensive photojournalism backgrounds. Azul Photography’s unique storytelling style prioritizes the little hidden moments couples share on their wedding day. Each image is unique to the couple, elegantly capturing their personality and enabling it to shine on their special day.
“We get to know who they are as people and then we just mirror and reflect who they are,” Christobal Perez said. “That’s why when people look at our work, they really get a sense of who the couples are, as opposed to who the photographer wants them to be.”
The Azul team believes a wedding has its own life. Instead of trying to pose and control the day, they work to reflect the organic moments as they are happening in front of them. Azul Photography’s unique style, strong reputation and passion for storytelling have made them a popular choice in the Triangle area.
Wedding Photography That Is Uniquely You
Azul Photography will capture photos that are true to your personality.
To start the process, Azul’s team meets with you or your wedding planner to get a feel for one another and create a timeline. These meetings enable the photographers to get to know each couple’s personality to ensure it shines through in every picture.
Azul specializes in photographing moments that cannot be posed or recreated. Each image is one-of-a kind and true to the identity of the couple.
On the day of the wedding, the photographers arrive an hour early to set up lights at the reception location and plan out the portraits they want to shoot throughout the day.
Azul’s basic package includes six to eight hours of photography, high-resolution photos for printing and an online gallery you can share with family and friends. Additionally, Azul offers photo albums, canvas prints, acrylic prints and metal prints as add-ons.
